Santa Ponsa – sun, sea and that one special lightness
Sometimes you don’t need a big plan – just the desire to get away for a moment. Away from everyday life, into the warmth. That’s how our trip to Santa Ponsa came about, a place on Mallorca that seems made for short escapes with a big impact.
Even on the approach it was clear: this would be different. No typical package-holiday bustle, but a place with lots of green, wide views and Mediterranean charm. We didn’t want to “see everything” – we wanted to arrive, take a breath, live. And that’s exactly what we did.
✈️ Off into the sun
We set off early in the morning: departing from the small but uncomplicated Frankfurt-Hahn airport. The sky was clear, boarding was done quickly – everything ran smoothly. When the plane took off and the cloud cover opened up beneath us, my mind went quiet. Holiday mode at last.
With Ryanair we were in Mallorca in just over two hours. Nothing fancy, but cheap and on time. The view of the wing in the sunlight was my first small moment of anticipation – a promise of warmth, sea and Mediterranean ease.

🌅 A view to fall in love with
Standing on the balcony straight after arriving and taking in that view – it was like holiday at the push of a button. The calm bay of Santa Ponsa, lined with white boats, the deep blue of the sky and the gentle play of the waves: nothing more is needed.
Our apartment was slightly elevated, with an open view of the sea. In the mornings with coffee, in the evenings with a glass of wine – this spot quickly became our favourite place for the small breaks in between.

☕ Breakfast with a view
Every morning we sat at the same table – right by the round window with that unique view of the greenery. The gentle hills, the quiet chirping of birds, the smell of fresh coffee: it was the perfect start to the day.
No noise, no hustle – just the quiet of Mallorca and the view into the distance. This little spot quickly became a daily ritual for us, one that felt more like a holiday than any postcard.
🌄 Day trip into the Serra de Tramuntana
This circular tour was one of the absolute highlights: by bus through breathtaking hairpin bends, on foot through rocky gorges, by boat along the coast – and at the end back by a historic wooden train. Mallorca shows its wild, unspoilt side here.

🌇 Evening atmosphere for a moment of pause
Evening atmosphere in Santa Ponsa – when the sun sinks behind the hills
When the sky slowly turns golden orange and the light lies soft over the hills, everything goes still. The last rays of sun touch the sea, and Santa Ponsa wraps itself in a warm calm. No better moment than to simply sit there – and be grateful.
These evenings have stayed with us. Not because of great events, but because of that particular stillness that only comes when you’ve truly arrived.
📌 Conclusion – A week that stays with you
Santa Ponsa was more than a holiday destination for us. It was a place to pause, to enjoy, to let go. Not an overcrowded hotspot, but exactly the right balance of experience and calm. From quiet breakfasts with a view to small adventures in the mountains and golden sunsets – every day had its own rhythm.
Anyone who wants to discover Mallorca beyond the clichés is in the right place here. And anyone who simply wants to feel what a real break feels like again – even more so.
