I really have sensitive feet – whether it’s new socks, new insoles, or new shoes: most of the time I notice immediately when something doesn’t fit. But there is one exception: the Salomon Speedcross. These shoes have been with me for over seven years – in all kinds of colors, through wind, rain, mud, and snow. And the best part: I never got a single blister with them.
What I particularly like about the Speedcross:
- ✅ Very light – you barely feel them on your foot
- ✅ No slipping – great grip even on wet ground
- ✅ Extremely robust – mine last for many hundreds of kilometres
- ✅ No blisters – and that is worth gold to me

❄️ My winter variant – Speedcross GTX
For the cold months I use the Speedcross GTX with Gore-Tex. They keep my feet dry, even in snow, wet leaves, or deep mud – and the grip is still great.

Salomon Speedcross: who it suits – and who it doesn’t
The Salomon Speedcross is my first choice for trails, mud, and changing weather: light, grippy, robust. To be honest: the aggressive tread really comes into its own off-road – on pure asphalt it wears down faster, and anyone who needs a lot of ankle support should also try a higher shoe. What other gear I bring along I show in my hiking & photo setup.
