📍 Starting point & getting there
The Römertour Horschbach begins in the village of Horschbach, a quiet place in the Pfälzer Bergland. The recommended starting point is near the church, from where signs lead directly onto the circular route. Getting there by car via the B420 or through Altenglan and Glan-Münchweiler is straightforward. Those arriving by bus can reach Horschbach from Kusel or Lauterecken – though with a bit of patience. Once you set off, you’re quickly out of the village – and right in the middle of historically significant paths.

The Römertour Horschbach is a pleasant circular hike of around 9 km with a gentle ascent and many nature-close sections. Particularly interesting: the route partly follows old Roman roads, which gives it a special atmosphere. The terrain alternates between meadow paths, forest tracks and soft woodland floor. The route is not spectacular – but it slows you down, gives space for thought and lets you feel the history that runs deep in the ground here.

The Römertour Horschbach is an invitation to mindful hiking. Without any grand staging, it leads you through history, nature and open space. Those who love slow walking, who like to immerse themselves in the landscape and don’t mind stopping along the way, will enjoy this trail. For me it was less a hike – and more a walk through time and stillness. That’s exactly what made it special.
