The Wasserliescher Panoramasteig is one of the most impressive premium trails along the Mosel. Over around 10 kilometres, the varied route leads through quiet vineyard slopes, open woodland and to breathtaking viewpoints over the Moseltal.
Even the start of the tour conveys a sense of calm – far from the hustle and bustle, accompanied by wind, vines and birdsong. On soft paths, the route winds through hilly landscape, past old dry-stone walls and viewpoints with benches. Particularly impressive are the panoramic views of the Mosel and the ridges on the opposite bank, which on clear days stretch far into the valley.
The route is well signposted and offers cultural highlights alongside its scenic variety: small chapels, wine huts and lovingly maintained trail sections make it an experience – even for leisure hikers.
For me, this tour was a real highlight: quiet paths, an intense experience of nature and the contrast between vines, rock and river made it an unforgettable hike.

The ascents are moderate but noticeable – and are more than rewarded with fantastic panoramic views over the Moseltal. The Wasserliescher Panoramasteig has earned its premium trail designation for good reason: it combines nature, open views, tranquillity and cultural traces of the wine landscape in a truly special way.

What I particularly liked: the tour felt like a hidden classic. Not overcrowded, but lovingly maintained. The alternation between open panorama and narrow paths creates a natural sense of drama – and that is exactly what hiking means to me.

Anyone who wants to experience the Mosel as it really is – without busloads of tourists and event noise – should walk the Wasserliescher Panoramasteig. The tour delivers exactly what its name promises: panorama, but also stillness. For me, it’s a perfect mix of movement, contact with nature and genuine impressions. I would do it again any time – precisely because it doesn’t clamour for effect, but simply exists. And it does so with style.
