Why I rely on Apple – real experiences with iPhone, MacBook, Watch & Co.

I’m not a tech freak. I don’t want to discuss specifications or compare benchmarks. What I want: devices that work. Reliably, seamlessly, everywhere. That’s exactly what Apple delivers for me – and has for many years. That’s why I’d like to share today why I’m so convinced by the Apple ecosystem and how it helps me in everyday life, while travelling and even while hiking.
From iPhone 3GS to iPhone 16 Pro
My introduction to the Apple world began with the iPhone 3GS. Since then I’ve used almost every model. Not because I chase every trend – but because I’ve noticed time and again how smoothly and reliably the devices work. Today I use an iPhone 16 Pro, and it accompanies me in almost everything I do. The camera, the navigation, the voice control, the interplay with other devices – it just works. No fiddling, no crashes, no endless updates.
MacBook Air – my faithful everyday companion
I worked with Windows for many years. And spent even more time troubleshooting. Since switching to the MacBook Air, that’s over. The device is light, extremely quiet, has outstanding battery life – and runs. Full stop. I take it everywhere: writing in nature, on trips, to the café. It starts instantly, never crashes and is so unobtrusive that I often forget it’s there.
iPad & Apple Watch – perfect for on the go
My iPad is my co-pilot – especially on planes. There I use it for films, books, notes or to control my smart home via Home Assistant. The interface is intuitive, the response time lightning fast. Even more practical for me is the Apple Watch. When hiking, it shows me my route directly on my wrist. I never have to take out my phone and always have Komoot, compass and altimeter in view. Especially on longer tours a real advantage.
AirPods – my mobile office in my ear
Whether on hikes, on the plane or while driving – my AirPods Pro are always with me. Not just for listening to music, but as my mobile voice notebook. When a thought comes to me on the go, I simply say: “Hey Siri, note…” – and the idea is saved. I often use this seamless voice control in the forest, when I have my route in view on the Apple Watch and both hands free.
Everything fits together
What makes Apple special for me is the interplay. I take a photo with the iPhone, it’s immediately on the MacBook. I reply to a message on the iPad, the AirPods switch automatically from the phone to it. I edit a note on the Apple Watch, the changes are in sync everywhere. No cables, no stress, no third-party apps. It just works – and that makes it unbeatable for me.
My conclusion
Apple is not a status symbol for me. It’s my digital backbone. Everything works, everything is well thought out, everything feels like it came from a single mould. Especially when you’re on the go, hiking outdoors or travelling a lot, that’s an enormous advantage. I’ve never felt the need to switch back – and that says more than any technical specification. If you want technology that helps rather than annoys, this is the right place. Simple as that.
