Wo die Wege WEIT WERDEN

The book is written in German.

My new book “Wo die Wege WEIT WERDEN” brings together twelve hikes that I walked alone between May and August. It leads through forest, fields and ridgelines in the Saarland and in Rheinland-Pfalz, and as far as a high plateau on Teneriffa. It is a photo book for anyone who likes to set out early and enjoys looking out into the distance.

What it is about

You set out early, mostly all alone, while the dew still lies on the meadows. This is exactly how these twelve hikes came about: each one walked on its own, quietly and without company.

The book belongs to the series “Wandern mit Verstand”. It tells of what matters along the way: the next climb, the next forest, the next view over the hills.

What awaits you

Farm tracks lead through blooming rapeseed fields, past orchard meadows and through shady beech forests where deer and hares cross the path. On the heights, wind turbines turn on the horizon, and the view reaches over the Hunsrück, Saarland and the vineyards along the Rhine.

Along the way there are a castle ruin in the woods, small chapels by the wayside and a quiet reservoir. The paths include the Geisbergsteig and the Wortsegel-Wanderweg, for example. On Teneriffa, a path leads across the high plateau to the Wetterscheide, with a view to the Teide and across to La Gomera.

Who it is for

The book is for you if you like to be out alone or simply want to imagine it. It is for everyone who experiences hiking as calm and enjoys wide landscapes.

You can browse through it when you want to pick your next round in the Saarland, in Rheinland-Pfalz or on Teneriffa. You can also read it when you cannot be outside right now.
